On July 9, 2010 there was an official arrival ceremony held to greet the first Lockheed Martin F-22A “Raptor” assigned to the Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG) PACAF 154th Wing, 199th TFS nicknamed “The Kuka’ilimoku” are based at Hickam AFB. The HIANG will eventually receive twenty F-22s to replace their F-15C/D “Eagle” and are the second ANG unit to fly the Raptor. Seventy five percent of missions will be manned by the 154th and the remaining 25 percent will be flown by active duty personnel.
