The Royal Malaysian Air Force, known as Tentera Udara di Raja Persekutuan, was established on June 1, 1958 and in September 1963 it was renamed Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM). In 1995 the TUDM consolidated all their F-5s into a single squadron; No. 12 Squadron. On October 21, 1986 F-5F Tiger II M29-15 MSN W1137 was on a low-level training mission when it went into a spin. The instructor managed to eject over the sea but the student didn’t and was lost as well as the aircraft.
