The first Hawk One CF-101 Voodoo came about in 1977 when the 409 Squadron from CFB Comox, British Columbia was to receive its standard. A Voodoo was to be sent to Ottawa (the Canada’s capitol) to pick it up so a special paint scheme using the squadrons colors and emblem was applied to CF-101 101012. The aircraft was named “Hawk One Canada”. In 1984 the 409 Squadron wanted to mark the 60th anniversary of the RCAF/CAF so “Hawk One Canada” paint scheme was applied to Voodoo 101057. Today CF-101 101057 “Hawk One Canada” can be seen as the gate guard for 19 Wing at CFB Comox.
