Pakistan’s first order for F-16A/Bs consisted of 111 aircraft but because of Pakistan’s growing nuclear capability the U.S. became very concerned and 28 aircraft were withheld and flown directly to AMARC when they were completed. These aircraft were offered for sale to other countries but there wasn’t interest shown so they USN and USAF put them to work as aggressors. Pakistan wanted the aircraft or their money back. With Pakistan assisting in the war on terror Pakistan was able to get 18 aircraft. F-16A 84705 was assigned to 11 Squadron “Arrows”.
