The F-16V maiden flight took place on October 16, 2015 and in 2016 the ROCAF 4th Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW) planned to upgrade 144 F-16A/B aircraft to the latest F-16V specifications with completion by 2023. This upgrade is comprised of new flight management systems, new APG-83 fire control radar, new electronic warfare system, helmet-mounted display. The F-16V is a fourth generation fighter and capable of interaction with the F-22 and F-35. The F-16V is designed for air-ground, air-to-air combat and deep interdiction and maritime interdiction missions.
