Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series HA3872 Lockheed F-16C “Red Flag AK Interim Scheme” 86-0295, 354th Wing, 18th Aggressor Sqn., Alaska December 2017

The F-16 Fighting Falcon was produced by General Dynamics who became Lockheed who then merged with Martin Marietta to become Lockheed Martin. The F-16 entered service in January sustaining 9-g turns. The F-16 is relatively inexpensive to purchase and maintain so the U.S. and 25 other countries added it to their inventory. The Fighting Falcon is referred to by its pilots as the “Viper” and will remain in USAF service until 2025.

Lockheed F-16C 86-0295 arrived at Eielson AFB on July 26, 2017 wearing black paint with yellow markings but since it was going to be used as an Aggressor in RED FLAG- Alaska (RF-A) 17-3 taking place from July 27 until August 11, 2017 so the yellow was replaced with red. F-16 86-0295 joined Red Flag and continued to wear the all black scheme with red markings until it went to the Eielson paint shop in late 2017 for the new forest green BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) splinter scheme.
