Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series HA3897 Lockheed F-16CM Fighting Falcon 92-3894, PACAF Viper Demo Team “Primo”, Komatsu Base 2019
The F-16 Fighting Falcon was produced by General Dynamics who became Lockheed who then merged with Martin Marietta to become Lockheed Martin. The F-16 entered service in January sustaining 9-g turns. The F-16 is relatively inexpensive to purchase and maintain so the U.S. and 25 other countries added it to their inventory. The Fighting Falcon is referred to by its pilots as the “Viper” and will remain in USAF service until 2025.
The USAF PACAF Demonstration Team is comprised of two F-16 pilots, a demonstration pilot and a safety observer as well as eight maintainers that are handpicked. On March 2, 2019 at the JASDF Komaki Open Base Air Festival F-16 92-3894 was flown by team Commander pilot Capt. Jacob “Primo” Impellizzeri. Primo took command in 2018 to begin his two year Viper Demo Team assignment. F-16 92-3894 had previously spent time with the 13th FS during “OIF” where it flew 21 missions.
