MiG-23MF “Red 149” MSN 0390217149 was delivered to the 28 Pulk Lotnictwa Mysilwskiego (28th Fighter Aviation Regiment) at Redzikowo AB near Slupsk on June 25, 1979 and served until 1997. In 2005 it was put on display at Babimost, Poland, a former military airbase. The 28th was established in 1952 and consisted of two squadrons. In 1979 after two months of training crews in the Soviet Union the 28th replaced their MiG-15 and MiG-17 aircraft with MiG-23MF and MiG-23UB. The first nine MiG-23MF arrived on June 4.1979.
