With the imminent arrival of the Eurofighter the German Air Force sold 22 of their 23 MiG-29s to Poland for a symbolic price of €1 per item. The 23rd MiG-29 29+03 (cn 2960525110/3414) that was originally delivered to the East German Air Force JG 3 as # 615 located at Preschen on February 29, 1988 was withdrawn from service in July 2002 and sent to the Luftwaffenmuseum located at the Berlin-Gatow Airfield. The aircraft wears the paint scheme from 2002 and has the JG 73 emblem on the tail.
