After the UK, Germany operates the second largest fleet of Eurofighters that they call the Eurofighter or the EF2000 with no reference to the name Typhoon. Originally designated as an air-to-air aircraft but it is being developed into a multi-role aircraft. These aircraft are assigned to four Tactical Air Wings, 31, 71, 73 and 74. In 2019 three of these squadrons sent EF2000s to RIAT 2019 at RAF Fairford UK with EF2000 31+17 c/n 178/AS010 from TaktLwG 31 “Boelcke” at Norvenich representing this unit.
