OCO-D (Office, Chief of Ordnance - Detroit) As a response to the German King Tiger 88mm gun a new and more powerful long-barreled 90mm main gun was developed and fitted on a T26E3. The new 90mm gun was designated T15E2 and fired a two-piece ammunition and didn’t require the external stabilization springs of the earlier models. The combination of the T26E3 chassis with the T15E2 gun produced the T26E4 Super Pershing. Only 25 of these vehicles were manufactured when production was ended.
